This week, the world’s most powerful truck bed is revealed.
In this first ever global test of a bed-size truck, the Nissan Titan XS and the Toyota Corolla Crossover were the top contenders.
With a gross weight of 2,564kg, the Titan X and the Corolla had the highest rated weight of the top-five trucks tested.
The Titan X had a top speed of 113mph, a top gear of 60mph, and a top fuel economy of 16mpg.
The Corolla was a close second with a top of 53mph and a fuel economy rating of 15mpg – with an impressive range of up to 3,400km (1,100 miles).
The Titan’s power output of 2.2Thp (1.9L) was the highest in the test and it produced over a third of the energy used in the Corollas.
The Toyota was the next most powerful with a power output just shy of 1Thp, and the Titan and Corolla were next with a combined total of 1.9Thp and 1.4Thp respectively.
The best part of the test, though, was the fact that the Titan’s 1THP was still the most efficient of the bunch.
The Nissan’s 0-62mph time of 4.1 seconds was the quickest of the five trucks tested, and its 0-100km/h (62.2mph) time was also very quick.
However, the Corllas top speed, as well as its top fuel consumption, both came in a distant second to the Titan.
In the end, the Toyota was judged the best all-round truck in the field, and was the winner of the award.
